Update

Hi friends,
I wanted to share a quick update. It is hard to believe that yet another summer has come and gone. Time feels like it slips through my fingers tips and nothing slows its passing. The remedy for this passing of time seems to be to savor, savor each day, each moment, each relationship, each opportunity, each encounter. The one thing that time gives is the gift of the present. The one thing time does not give back is time itself. I am trying to learn to savor each moment a little better.

Book writing

This summer, I started writing my first book. There were lots of emotions that emerged when I leaped into this project. My feelings have run the gamut; however, when you believe in something, you tell yourself to go for it!

This first book will be a Lenten devotional based on a blog series I did in 2015. It will be a 40-day walk with Jesus through the desert, reflecting on a different theme each day. I wish I could give a timetable, but I’ve realized it’s God’s time, not mine. However, my hope is it will be ready next year.

Other news

In other news, I will be traveling to Spain in mid-September to walk a portion of El Camino de Santiago or The Way of St. James. It is a pilgrimage in Spain that starts in the Pyrenees Mountains in France. The trek ends at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, where the remains of the apostle St. James are buried. My walk will begin in Ponferrada, Spain, where I will complete the remaining 200 kilometers to Santiago in 9 days. I am thankful to my friend and her husband for allowing me to tag along.

My website will get a facelift sometime in late fall -new colors, logo, and all that branding stuff that creative folks put together for you. I am excited to share that with you soon.

Well, that’s the update, and as the calendar pages turn, the summer heat begins to recede and give way to cooler days, for which I am thankful. Autumn will gear up for its colorful display of leaves, and the first day of my pilgrimage will soon arrive. I look forward to sharing this journey to Spain with you.

Many blessings to you.

There is meaning in every journey that is unknown to the traveler.
